Super Affiliate Marketing

Becoming a "super affiliate" is a tricky business, it is also a "super" rewarding business with lots of leg room to expand.
So What is a Super Affiliate?
In a company I worked with a few years ago we managed an affiliate base of around 3000 active online webmaster affiliates.
Out of that base of 3000, only about 15 affiliates were considered "super affiliates". These top webmasters would consistently bring in about 60% of our affiliate business and revenue.
A further 100 or so affiliates would bounce in and out of the super affiliate earnings model as their various online marketing practices work or failed.
The rest of the affiliate base were we called trickle affiliates. They would bring in daily numbers and made a good income doing it, but seldom cracked into the upper tiers.
These top-tier webmasters shared a few key traits. Which I had the privilege of analyzing from a traffic and a personal interaction standpoint.
Common Traits of Super Affiliates.
- Most super affiliates earn upwards of 6 figures a month - $USD. This some will tell you and some will not.
- Consistency, super affiliates always deliver, they were always on top of the game and always know the industry.
- Super Affiliates have found their niches and dominated them on multiple levels and only use long term sustainable base tactics.
- Usually super affiliate businesses would consist of no more than 5 people. Most often only 2 or 3 people with key skills, not afraid of outsourcing mundane tasks. Most super affiliates operate on low overhead expenses.
- Each affiliate had negotiated premium rates with the affiliate programs they dealt with. Based purely on conversions they bring to the table.
- Each pushed multiple products/services from multiple affiliate/vendor programs at volumes you would have to see to believe.
- On average it takes about 5y to bring an offline company into full profitability. It's about the same kind of dedication required with a super affiliates business.
- Super Affiliates are arrogant dicks, but they do not expect or take handouts. They do it all themselves and are 100% dedicated to maintaining the perpetual flow of their business.
- Super Affiliates don't take chances when it comes to big money. They look for the right partners and stick with them.
- Super Affiliates test with small volumes and based on conclusive upward trends to the bottom line results, will they start to grow any significant traffic.
- Super Affiliates are not one hit wonders, they are able to re-build from the ground up just like any new business which has pitfalls and learning curves. The difference with super affiliates is that they plan for these events and still stay ahead of the curve, never effecting their business relationships.
- Super Affiliates spread their bets with multiple strategies and collect a new check each day.
- Super Affiliates are not always techno boffins. Sometimes they are sometimes just riding the wave of a few smart ideas and the techno boffins are employees or outsourced consultants. (but most often they know their Sh@#$ backwards)
- Super Affiliates make the right decisions, (80% of the time, the other 20% of bad decisions foreseen risks which they have calculated for.).
- Super Affiliates use all the tools at their disposal.
- Super Affiliates never sleep.
- Some super affiliates are very difficult to contact.
- Super Affiliates always plan ahead.
- Super Affiliates don't have soap-box blogs that talk about themselves. In fact they could not give a rat's ass about advertising their expert services. They are 100% dedicated to the sites and systems that make them money.
- Super Affiliates don't like competition and will take extreme measures to eliminate it.
- Super Affiliates are fanatically determined in finding new ways to optimize their businesses.
- Super Affiliates are guys and girls just like you. So don't poke or make fun of them :-).
Kicking off a Super Affiliate Business Of Your Own
As I said before this is a tricky business however here are a few pointers that may be of some assistance to a new Super Affiliate wannabe. All points are pre tried and tested, no smoke and mirrors. We will start from the basics and work our way into the more interesting elements of webmastery.
- Know where your traffic is coming from.
- Create channels for various countries.
- Create sites that will bring in repeat traffic.
- Do not rely on SEO alone.
- Look for established markets and offer a service or services for free and support them.
- Have your users create content and tons of it. User reviews, profiles, etc.
- Build your site around your users and make them part of your site, don't build your site for just reading.
- Do not enter markets with a lot of competition find your niches (check out forums).
- Keep your site simple, it has to load quickly & have no more than a couple of ads, the odd picture and your brand logo. Try not to confuse or annoy your users, deliver what they need and do it quickly.
Smart Sales Blogging.

- Find a niche in the subject that you have chosen where you can capitalize.
- Checkout topics on Digg, that
maywill be of interest to you or your potential target audience. - Get online!. Setup an free blog (wp / blogger or Google it) web-site, or forum.
- Test the waters with a few original posts written by you. (refine it make sure it rocks!, don't copy and paste other peoples work.)

- Look for related products to sell to your niche.
- Start Blogging, Posting or making a noise.
- Become a member of social networks, forums and active community sites that talk about services related to yours.
- Track your progress by using good website Analytic software. Learn what each new visitor is looking for and what turns them into a sale.
- Take notes, test new topics, grow your best converting topics.
- Study your competition and learn what they are doing to outsmart, outwit, outplay.
- Repeat the process until you know exactly how to beat the competition, then formulate along term multilevel strategy for rolling out on mass.
This is by no means a sun-total of what it takes to be a super affiliate, but it's a good start. Personally it's my project plan. As I watch my affiliate revenue rise, I can know it's not all BS.
Use it lose it, keep the F!@&$ out my niches, biaches!
